The Future of Dietetics at the University of Balamand between Ethics and Artificial Intelligence

The Future of Dietetics was held at the University of Balamand during a workshop entitled “Beyond the Clinic: The Ethical, Professional and Technological Dimensions of Dietetics”

Specialists, academics, students and those interested in health affairs participated in the workshop, which took place at the university’s campus in Al-Dakwaneh.

Challenges and Opportunities of Dietetics

In addition, the workshop aimed to discuss the most prominent challenges and opportunities facing the nutrition profession in light of the rapid scientific and technological developments.

The program included a number of lectures and interactive sessions presented by experts from leading academic and health institutions.

Five main themes

The sessions on the future of dietetics addressed 5 main themes, including job satisfaction among dietitians, and professional ethics.

In addition to the responsible use of social media, artificial intelligence applications in nutrition sciences, in addition to the role of supervisors in preparing new cadres.

The Dean of the College of Health Sciences, Dr. Huda Hayer, stressed the importance of the growing role of dietitians in improving the health of individuals and communities.

To employ digital technologies responsibly

She therefore noted the need to use digital technologies responsibly to support food systems and enhance the quality of health care.

For her part, the Head of the Department of Dietetics, Dr. Maud Rizk, stressed the importance of keeping pace with scientific and technological developments.

She considered that the profession is witnessing rapid changes that require specialists to develop their skills and constantly expand their professional roles.

The workshop concluded with a ceremony honoring the supervisors in appreciation of their efforts in training and qualifying dietitians.
