U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Caroline Levitt is leaving the White House at the end of August.
This follows her decision to devote herself to her family after the birth of her second child, though she will continue to serve as an advisor to the president from outside the administration.
Trump said that Levitt, 28, wishes to spend more time with her two children and her family.
He emphasized that she will remain one of his top advisers and an influential voice within the Republican Party.
He praised what he described as her exceptional performance during her tenure as White House press secretary.
For her part, Levitt said her decision to leave was a mixture of joy and sadness.
She noted the difficulty of balancing the demands of her position with her family responsibilities.
She expressed her gratitude to Trump for giving her the opportunity to speak on his behalf from the White House podium.
Levitt is the youngest-ever White House press secretary and stood out during press conferences for her assertive style and strong defense of Trump’s policies.
She had previously worked in Trump’s press office during his first term.
She then became his spokesperson during his 2024 election campaign before assuming her position at the White House.
Despite her departure, Levitt confirmed that she will continue her political activities and advisory role outside the U.S. administration.
