The Lebanese women’s basketball team (under-18) secured its second consecutive victory in the Asian Championship (Division B) with an impressive result as Lebanon Defeats Samoa.
which runs through next Sunday in the Thai capital of Bangkok, with a landslide victory over the Samoa national team (84–52), winning by a margin of 32 points.
The match took place on Tuesday morning, and the Lebanese team dominated from the start.
They closed out each quarter in their favor (24–6, 37–26, 64–44, 84–52).
Lebanon’s American coach, Paul Kaftor, gave all the players playing time in the match.
Lara Al-Naqib was the top scorer for the Cedars with 14 points.
Eight countries are participating in the continental championship, which will qualify the defending champion for Level “A”: Lebanon, Oman, Kazakhstan, India, Thailand, Indonesia, Samoa, and the Cook Islands.
The Lebanese national team qualified for this major continental tournament as the representative of the West Asia region.
Lebanon’s group includes Lebanon, the Cook Islands, Kazakhstan, and Samoa.
The Cedars will conclude their first-round matches with a game against Kazakhstan at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Beirut time.
