The “Dunya for Sustainable Development” Association celebrated the conclusion of the “Girls in Technology” project.
The celebration included a graduation ceremony and the presentation of certificates to the young women who participated, held at the Cultural Association headquarters in Tripoli.
The event was attended by a representative from the René Moawad Foundation, as well as educational, cultural, and social figures.
Also present were the graduates’ families, the trainers, and the project team.
In addition, Rima Qashash, a member of the association, opened the ceremony with a speech.
In her remarks, she emphasized that “education and training opportunities represent a true turning point in the lives of young women.”
For her part, the association’s president, Nariman Al-Shamaa, delivered a speech in which she reviewed the project’s progress
and the developmental outcomes it has achieved over the course of sixteen months.
She also explained that “the project targeted girls aged fourteen to nineteen from the areas of Al-Tabbaneh, Al-Qubba, and Al-Mankoubin.
It sought to equip them with skills in computer use, digital safety, digital marketing, and English.”
She also emphasized “the importance of this type of digital and knowledge-based empowerment in protecting girls and women from economic violence that threatens their stability.”
Meanwhile, Karen Elia, a representative of the René Moawad Foundation, spoke about “the partnership with the Dunya Association for Sustainable Development.”
This partnership “reflects a shared belief in the importance of investing in people.”
In addition, the celebration included a screening of a documentary film highlighting the project’s key milestones, training sessions, and activities.
Furthermore, participating girls shared firsthand testimonies about the impact of this experience on their daily lives and work.
Zainab Amin, speaking on behalf of the female graduates, emphasized that “the project provided a vast space for learning and building self-confidence.”
The project’s media coordinator, Waad Wari, also showcased the designs and outstanding digital content of twelve awareness campaigns.
Furthermore, in a gesture of appreciation, the association honored its supporters, partners, trainers, and the project team.
Finally, project coordinator Reem Al-Hassan presided over the ceremony to distribute certificates and incentive gifts.
