Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani has arrived in Beirut on an official visit.
He met with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and a number of government leaders.
The visit aims to discuss ways to enhance cooperation and a draft agreement to establish the Lebanese-Syrian Joint Higher Committee.
The two sides also stressed the importance of brotherly relations between Lebanon and Syria.
Al-Shaibani’s visits included several Lebanese figures, and he received a gift from Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, which is an example of a Lebanese cedar.
It is worth mentioning that this is the second visit of Al-Shaibani to Lebanon, since he assumed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
