The Health Committee of the Municipality of Saida continued its efforts to promote food safety in Saida. They did this through the implementation of the second round of monitoring and awareness campaigns.
It included the city’s various neighborhoods and streets in successive stages.
This initiative came within the framework of the keenness to protect the health of citizens. In addition, it aims to raise the level of food services provided to residents and visitors.
A comprehensive tour of food establishments
The second round included the Commercial Market and Riad El Solh Street. There, the specialized team carried out a wide field survey of establishments working in the food and food sector.
Therefore, the food safety tour in Sidon included a visit to supermarkets, sagas, poultry and fish shops, roasters, ovens, flour and food warehouses.

The committee stressed that this step aims to help the owners of enterprises to correct any observations. Furthermore, it helps improve the level of health, environmental and tourism performance.
Follow-up visits to enhance compliance
Finally, the committee indicated that the volunteer teams will return in the coming period to conduct follow-up visits after the end of the deadline granted to correct the situation. The purpose is to assess the level of compliance with the required standards.
The Health Committee also thanked the volunteer team of young women and men in Saida. In addition, they praised the spirit of responsibility and cooperation they showed during the campaign.
