Data released today by the European statistics agency (Eurostat) showed the following.
Construction sector output in the eurozone grew in August at its fastest pace in five months.
The agency said construction output rose 1.8% month-on-month in August.
This compares with growth of 0.2% in July, marking the highest growth rate since March, when it stood at 1.9%.
Specialized construction activities grew by 2.5%, while the civil engineering sector declined by 2.1%.
On an annual basis, the construction sector in the 21-country eurozone grew by 1.4%, after contracting by 1.7% in July.
