The 2027 UNIRANKS Global University Rankings have been released.
Lebanese universities made a strong showing, with four of them ranking among the top 30 universities in the Arab world.
They also achieved high rankings at both the local and international levels.
The American University of Beirut topped the ranking of Lebanese universities.
It ranked fourth in the Arab world and 336th globally.
It was followed by the Lebanese American University, which ranked second locally and 22nd in the Arab world.
Saint Joseph University in Beirut came in third in Lebanon and twenty-fifth in the Arab world.
It was followed by the University of Phoenicia, which ranked fourth locally and twenty-sixth in the Arab world.
Meanwhile, the University of Balamand ranked fifth among Lebanese universities.
The ranking is based on eleven key dimensions, including the quality of education, academic and research performance, graduate employability, and professional success.
It also considers internationalization and diversity, student experience and satisfaction, digital presence, digital transformation, institutional structure, and university facilities.
Additionally, it takes into account academic and professional accreditations.
The 2027 edition of the ranking covers more than 37,000 universities and higher education institutions in 228 countries and regions around the world.
It employs a multidimensional framework to compare university performance at the local, regional, and international levels.
