Tripoli Hosts Lebanese Olympic Day Events

The Lebanese Olympic Committee, chaired by Executive Committee member and President of the Lebanese Squash Federation Zafar Kabbara, is organizing this year’s Olympic Day events.

The event will take place this coming Saturday at the Tripoli Municipal Stadium.

Sports federations, clubs, associations, and academies from various regions of Lebanon will also participate.

An organizing committee comprising a select group of experts and key figures in the sports field is overseeing this event.

This is to ensure the success of this global event and the achievement of its objectives, thereby reflecting and reinforcing the Olympic values.

Here is the Olympic Day program:

_ 8:30 a.m.: Welcome of participants and start of the run.

_ 9:00 a.m.: Performance of the Lebanese national anthem, followed by the Olympic anthem.

_ 9:35 a.m.: Keynote address by International Olympic Committee President Christy Coventry, delivered by Lebanese Olympic Committee President Dr. Boutros Jalakh.

_ 10:00 a.m.: Start of athletic activities, interspersed with athletic performances on stage.

Each station lasts fifteen minutes, followed by activities introducing sports organized by various sports federations.

These include: modern pentathlon, tic-ball, table tennis, martial arts, and futnet.

In addition, there will be soccer skill challenges, a tug-of-war, and a drawing contest themed around the event.

Furthermore, at 1:00 p.m., the closing ceremony will take place, during which the Municipality of Tripoli and the organizing and supporting entities will be honored.

Commemorative medals and certificates of participation will be distributed to all participants
