Tourism Minister Laura Al-Khazen Lahoud launched the events of the St. Anthony – Al-Dawwar Festival,
which is being held under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism with the slogan “Together We Build a Future of Joy, Hospitality, and Tourism.”
The festival will be held from July 6 to August 8, with the participation of the Parish of St. Anthony the Great
, the Waqf Committee, and the Festival Committee
During the press conference, the minister emphasized that local festivals are a cornerstone for revitalizing
tourism and the economy in various regions of Lebanon.
She noted that the Al-Dawar Festival represents a successful model
of cooperation between the Church, the local community, and the state.
It helps highlight religious and cultural heritage and attract visitors.
For his part, the parish priest, Father Salim Al-Ashkar, emphasized that the festival has become an annual event that brings together both residents and expatriates from the town.
It also boosts the local economy and tourism.
The mayor of Al-Dawar, Youssef Abdul-Ahad,
confirmed that the event’s success reflects the cooperation of the town’s residents and their commitment to their heritage.
The festival program includes games for children and artistic evenings featuring Rafqa Fares, Gilbert Rahbani, Naji Al-Asta, and Nicolas Al-Asta.
along with social, cultural, and recreational activities suitable for all members of the family.
The Ministry of Tourism has invited Lebanese citizens and expatriates to participate in the summer festivals, given their role in supporting the local economy and promoting Lebanon’s image as a destination for culture and hospitality.
