The Executive Committee of the Lebanese Olympic Committee held its regular meeting, chaired by Dr. Boutros Jalakh, at its headquarters in Hazmieh.
Members attended the Lebanese Olympic Committee meeting, where the minutes of the previous session were approved before discussing the agenda and adopting a number of organizational decisions.
The meeting focused on monitoring the administrative, logistical, and technical preparations for Lebanon’s participation in major upcoming sporting events.
Foremost among these are the Mediterranean Games in Taranto, Italy, from August 21 to September 3, 2026,
The Asian Games in Aichi–Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4, 2026.
In addition to the Summer Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal, and the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Riyadh this coming December.
The Committee also decided to send a letter of congratulations to the Lebanese Gymnastics Federation on the occasion of the election of a new administrative body headed by Engineer Hussein Taha
It also congratulated Executive Committee member Zafar Kabara on the success of the 2026 Olympic Day event in Tripoli.
It commended the efforts of the participating sports federations, clubs, and academies from various regions of Lebanon.
