Strong growth for the industrial sector in Saudi Arabia last year

Industrial production in Saudi Arabia witnessed a positive performance during 2025, after the annual index of industrial production increased by 5.1% compared to 2024.

This growth reflects the continued economic activity and expansion of the various productive sectors in the Kingdom.

Improve activity performance

This increase in industrial production in Saudi Arabia was supported by the improved performance of a number of key economic activities.

Foremost among them is the mining and quarrying sector, in addition to the manufacturing industry

In addition to electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply activities, as well as the water and sanitation sector and waste management and treatment.

Data from the General Authority for Statistics showed that oil activities recorded an annual growth of 5.4% during 2025.

Non-oil activities increased by 4.3% compared to the previous year.

This underscored the success of efforts to promote economic diversification and increase the contribution of non-oil sectors to GDP.

In the details of economic activities, the index of mining and quarrying activity increased by 5.8%, to be one of the most prominent sectors supporting industrial growth.

Manufacturing activity rises

Industrial activity in Saudi Arabia also recorded an increase of 3.9%, benefiting from the good performance of a number of vital industries.

Among the most prominent industrial activities, the activity of coking coal and refined petroleum products increased by 3.7%.

Meanwhile, the water supply and sanitation and waste management and treatment sector recorded the highest growth among the main activities, rising by 10%.

These indicators reflected the continued economic momentum in the Kingdom and the role of the industrial sector in supporting sustainable development.
