Michael Douglas reveals secrets from his past in new memoir

American star Michael Douglas has revealed personal details from his life in his new memoir, “One Helluva Ride,” confirming that his wife, star Catherine Zeta-Jones, has not read the book yet.

During an interview with The Sunday Times, Douglas, 82, was asked whether his wife was worried about the content of the memoir, particularly since it touches on his romantic life and past relationships. He answered simply: “She hasn’t read it.”

According to the newspaper, Michael Douglas made sure not to let anyone see the memoir before its release on October 6.

The book covers multiple chapters of Michael Douglas’s childhood and artistic career, alongside his social life and personal affairs. It also touches on several of his past relationships, including those with stars such as Kathleen Turner and Jenny Thalheimer.

Douglas also reveals part of his marriage to Catherine Zeta-Jones, which began in 2000, two years after they first met.

The famous actor spoke about the crisis their marriage went through in 2013, when they decided to spend some time apart due to a number of challenges.

Reconciliation brought the spark back to their marriage

Michael Douglas confirmed that their reconciliation came as a result of joint effort from both sides. He also explained that their relationship today is in a stable phase, saying: “We’re fine and our relationship is in a good place.”

He wrote in his memoir about that period: “I never lost hope that we would reconcile.” He added that spending time apart helped them rediscover the relationship and recapture the spark that brought them together in the first place.

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones share a son, Dylan, and a daughter, Carys, while Douglas also has another son, Cameron, from his previous marriage.
