A video circulating on social media platforms has drawn the attention of fans of Egyptian actor Adel Imam, after those who shared it claimed it showed his latest public appearance following a long absence from the spotlight.
The clip shows an elderly man sitting inside a car, waving to a number of people, with visible signs of old age and fatigue, prompting some to believe the man was Adel Imam and raising questions about his health.
However, the truth behind the video quickly came to light: the man shown in the clip is Indian writer and screenwriter Salim Khan, father of star Salman Khan, not Egyptian actor Adel Imam.
The video had originally been filmed of Salim Khan during a family gathering celebrating his granddaughter’s birthday, attended by several family members and close relatives.
According to reports, the original clip underwent some digital alterations using artificial intelligence techniques, which helped change certain features and caused confusion among viewers.
As a result, the circulating video has nothing to do with any recent appearance by Adel Imam. The incident has once again highlighted the importance of verifying videos and images spreading across social media, especially amid the rapid advancement of AI-based content editing technology.
