The Ministry of Education and Higher Education concluded the events of the 10th season of the Arab Reading Challenge in Lebanon.
In collaboration with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, the event culminated in the crowning of student Manisa Bilal Abu Mahmoud as the champion of the Lebanese Republic.
The award ceremony was held at the Ministry of Education, under the patronage and in the presence of Minister Dr. Rima Karami and the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, Fahad Salem Al Kaabi.
Also in attendance were education officials, students, parents, and supervisors.
St. Joseph High School for the Antonine Sisters in Zahle won the title of “Outstanding School,” while teacher Haidar Mahmoud Mashourb was named “Best Supervisor.”
Student Ahmad Ali Qatish from Al-Hadi Foundation also took first place in the category for students with special needs.
Karami emphasized that crowning the champion of the Arab Reading Challenge in Lebanon reflects the ability of Lebanese students to excel and be creative.
She emphasized that reading is not merely a means of gathering information, but a way to shape individuals and build the future.
The challenge aims to establish reading as a daily habit and to develop students’ critical and creative thinking skills.
