The 2026 Lebanese Army race achieved notable success in its second edition, held under the slogan “Together We Complete,” under the patronage and in the presence of Army Commander General Rodolphe Haykal, with broad athletic and public participation in the Manara area of Beirut.
The High Institute for Military Sports organized the race over 10km and 5km distances, under the supervision of the Lebanese Athletics Federation, amid a festive national atmosphere.

The event was attended by Minister of Youth and Sports Nora Bayrakdarian, President of the Olympic Committee Jihad Salameh, and Governor of Beirut Marwan Abboud, alongside military, sports and media figures.
After the national anthem was played and folkloric performances were presented, General Haykal gave the starting signal for the 10km race, followed by the recreational 5km race.
Lebanese Army helicopters also added a special touch to the event, scattering flowers over the participants and attendees.
Results of the 2026 Lebanese Army race
Ali Kanaan won the men’s category title, ahead of Zaher Zein El Dine and Omar Abou Hamad, all of them from the Lebanese Army.
In the women’s category, Serena Hayek was crowned first place, followed by Maysa Chirazi, then Alia Haidar.
General Haykal, Minister Bayrakdarian, and sports and military officials took part in the winners’ awards ceremony.
“Together We Complete”: a sporting and national message
The race concluded with a festive atmosphere that reflected the success of the organization and the spirit of national solidarity. The second edition also affirmed the importance of sport in strengthening ties between the army and Lebanese society.
The date for honoring the winners in the various age categories is to be announced later.
