The “Environmental Scouts of Lebanon” Association launched a “Beginner Sea Scout” course.
This initiative is part of the association’s mission to develop youth capabilities and promote environmental awareness.
The course is open to members of the Maritime Scouts at the Port Regiment. It is for those who wish to acquire basic maritime skills.
In a statement, the association said: “The course aims to provide participants with basic knowledge and skills in the Sea Scout movement, including the principles of navigation and maritime safety.”
She continued: “In addition to knots and ties, and the use of boats, the course also aims to instill a culture of preserving the marine and coastal environment and to foster a spirit of discipline and teamwork.”
The program includes theoretical sessions and practical exercises. Therefore, these ensure that Scouts are equipped with the necessary skills to engage in maritime activities in accordance with safety and responsibility standards.
