Dr. Majid Mneimneh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Organization for the Promotion of Investment in Lebanon (IDAL), discussed Emirati investments in Lebanon with Emirati businessman Khalaf Ahmed Al Habtoor.
Ways to strengthen economic and investment relations between Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates.
The meeting was attended by Lebanon’s Ambassador to the UAE, Tarek Mneimneh.
The participants discussed the importance of the UAE private sector’s role in supporting Lebanon’s economic recovery and contributing to the revitalization of productive sectors.
The meeting also touched on the investments carried out by the Al Habtoor Group in Lebanon over the past decades.
Foremost among these is the Metropolitan project in Sin el Fil.
The project is considered a prominent example of Emirati investment, particularly in the tourism, hospitality, real estate, and retail sectors.
Majid Mneimneh emphasized that Al Habtoor’s investments constitute an important part of the history of Arab investment in Lebanon.
He also noted that preserving and developing these investments, along with attracting new projects,
sends a strong message of confidence in the Lebanese economy and helps create new job opportunities.
He added that the return of an Emirati investor of Al Habtoor’s stature and experience to the Lebanese market.
may encourage other Emirati and Arab investors to explore available opportunities.
Mneimneh concluded by emphasizing that “IDAL” is working to put Lebanon back on the regional investment map, while prioritizing the restoration of Emirati and Gulf investments and supporting economic growth.
