Dbayeh Public Beach Reopens with Free Admission

Dbayeh Beach has reopened this year and now welcomes visitors free of charge. This initiative restores one of Metn’s most prominent public coastal areas, which has long attracted visitors with its wide sandy shore.

After years of pollution and neglect, the municipality has opened the beach as a free destination for families and beach lovers. The Municipality of Dbayeh–Zouk El Khrab–Aoukar–Haret El Bellaneh launched the project to revive the remaining beach area, improve environmental conditions, and develop essential services.

Dbayeh Public Beach Offers Free Admission

Visitors can now enter Dbayeh Public Beach free of charge and enjoy a full day along its open sandy shore.

In addition, the municipality has installed kiosks that provide security and visitor services. It will use the kiosks’ proceeds to maintain the beach and cover part of its operating expenses.

The municipality also directly supervises the site. Through this supervision, it aims to preserve cleanliness, maintain order, and provide a comfortable public space for families and other visitors.

Moreover, the project forms part of a new municipal plan to revive the beach and transform it once again into a coastal space that everyone can access.

In the past, Dbayeh Beach ranked among Lebanon’s largest and most famous sandy beaches. Therefore, the municipality hopes that this initiative will help restore its importance as a public destination.

Is the Water at Dbayeh Beach Safe for Swimming?

Following the reopening, many visitors have raised questions about the cleanliness of the seawater and whether it remains safe for swimming.

In response, the municipality confirmed that it regularly tests the seawater in cooperation with the relevant authorities. According to the municipality, the test results have shown gradual and continuous improvements in water quality.

However, the municipality continues to monitor the situation closely. It will also take all necessary measures within its authority and coordinate with the relevant departments to protect public health and the environment.

To protect visitors and maintain a clean and comfortable environment, the municipality introduced several rules that everyone must follow.

First, visitors must respect others and avoid excessive noise. They must also avoid any activity that could damage the marine environment or create visual pollution along the beach.

In addition, visitors may not bring pets onto the beach. They must use public facilities responsibly and follow the instructions of municipal employees and the authorities managing the site.

Anyone who wishes to swim must wear appropriate swimwear. The municipality also permits burkinis.

Moreover, visitors must place all waste in the designated bins. They may not throw cigarette butts, plastic items, or other polluting materials onto the sand or into the sea.

Visitors swim at their own risk. Therefore, parents and guardians must supervise children at all times.

The municipality also prohibits visitors from lighting fires, organizing barbecues, or using fireworks. Furthermore, visitors may not bring glass containers onto the beach.

Finally, lifeguards provide assistance only during the officially designated hours. As a result, visitors should remain cautious whenever they enter the water.

What Are the Operating Hours for Dbayeh Beach?

Dbayeh Public Beach opens every day from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

These operating hours allow families and visitors to spend a full day by the sea and enjoy the sandy shore without paying an entrance fee.

Although the beach still requires considerable work before it can regain its former appearance, its reopening represents an important first step toward restoring one of Metn’s public coastal spaces.
