The song “Crazy in Love” by international superstar Beyoncé and her husband, rapper Jay-Z,
has officially joined the club of videos with over 1 billion views on YouTube.
More than two decades after the release of this famous collaboration, the song’s official music video has surpassed the 1 billion view mark,
making it Beyoncé’s third music video to achieve this milestone, following “Halo” and “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It).”
“Crazy in Love” was released in 2003 as the lead single from Beyoncé’s debut solo album,Dangerously in Love,
and it played a major role in cementing her status as a solo artist following her time with Destiny’s Child.
The music video was directed by Jake Nava and gained widespread popularity thanks to Beyoncé’s dance moves,
which later became one of her most recognizable artistic trademarks,
along with Jay-Z’s appearance during his verse. The video also won the award for Best Choreography at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards.
On the charts, “Crazy in Love” became Beyoncé’s first solo single
to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart, where it remained at number one for eight consecutive weeks.
The song’s success continues to this day; in December 2024, it was certified
eight-time platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), equivalent to eight million certified units in the United States.
The song also won two Grammy Awards in the categories of Best Rap-Sung Collaboration and Best R&B Song,
in addition to being nominated for Record of the Year.
