The Beirut Arab University celebrated the graduation of its 63rd class during a ceremony held on the university’s campus in Dbayeh.
The ceremony included 1,878 graduates from its ten colleges, who received bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees.
The ceremony was attended by officials and figures from the academic, educational, and social spheres.
Also in attendance were Arab delegations, heads of professional associations, university presidents, and leaders of various institutions, as well as the graduates’ families.
Following the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and the playing of the national anthem and the university anthem,
Zina Al-Aris, Director of Public Relations and Communications, affirmed that education has proven its ability to withstand adversity, emphasizing the importance of perseverance despite difficulties.
In turn, graduate Aya Saad al-Din spoke on behalf of her classmates, noting that educated youth represent Lebanon’s hope, voice, and future.
University President Professor Wael Nabil Abdelsalam also addressed the graduates, praising their resilience in the face of crises, displacement, and destruction, as well as their determination to pursue their education.
Media personality Ricardo Karam, the ceremony’s keynote speaker, called on the graduates to uphold citizenship, competence, and the law, and not to allow sectarianism to take precedence over the nation.
In closing, the university president presented Ricardo Karam with a commemorative plaque.
This took place before the distribution of diplomas and awards to the graduates and top students, amid a festive atmosphere and fireworks.
