Beirut Airport recorded exceptional traffic during the month of August, with a steady increase in the number of flights and passengers.
This is despite the difficult circumstances and successive crises Lebanon is facing.
A source at Middle East Airlines revealed that the company operated 49 flights over the past 24 hours.
This figure is the second-highest recorded by the company this year, reflecting the growing demand for travel to and from Beirut.
According to official figures, Rafik Hariri International Airport welcomed 28,998 passengers on August 1.
Of these, 14,161 were departing passengers and 14,837 were arriving passengers.
Similarly, on August 23, the airport recorded its second-highest daily traffic this year,
A total of 28,212 passengers passed through the airport.
Traffic was not limited to a specific destination but included Arab, European, and regional cities.
With Air France flights to Lebanon still suspended, Middle East Airlines increased its flights to Paris to meet the additional demand.
Consequently, traffic at Beirut Airport confirms that Lebanon remains a strong presence on the travel and tourism map.
These figures also point to a more active season, provided the situation stabilizes in the coming period.
