The “Al-Maqasid Islamic Charitable Society” in Beirut honored five members of its most recent Board of Trustees.
They are: Mona Bouarashi, Dr. Muhammad Al-Samak, Dr. Ghalib Mahmasani, Engineer Ahmad Muneimneh, and Engineer Bassam Barghout.
The ceremony was attended by a number of dignitaries.
The president of the Al-Maqasid Association, Engineer Diana Tabara, presented the Al-Maqasid Shield to the honorees.
She said: “Today, we are not honoring these individuals simply because they served on the Al-Maqasid Board of Trustees, nor because one administrative phase has ended and another has begun, but because loyalty to institutions begins with loyalty to those who have served them.”
She added: “Thank you to the individuals who have loyally accompanied Al-Maqasid; each and every one of them had their own presence, their own mark, and their own unique way of giving.”
She continued: “We are honoring those who contributed to Al-Maqasid during the previous phase, but I must also acknowledge the current Board of Trustees.”
She concluded: “Al-Maqasid will remain, as it always has, greater than any individual.”
