Wassim Daher, Chairman of the Lebanese-Emirati Business Council, affirmed that Lebanon is entering a new and promising economic phase.
This comes following the visit of a high-level Emirati economic delegation to Beirut, led by Minister of State for Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zyoudi.
Daher explained that the meetings and events that accompanied the visit resulted in positive understandings.
These are expected to strengthen economic and investment relations between Lebanon and the UAE.
He also noted the UAE’s serious commitment to transforming these understandings into concrete and sustainable projects and partnerships.
He considered the signing of the agreement to establish the UAE-Lebanon Joint Business Council and the holding of its first meeting in Beirut.

Furthermore, the Council provides a practical framework for strengthening communication between businesspeople and companies in both countries.
During the first meeting, members laid the organizational foundations for the Council’s work and defined the objectives and priorities for the coming phase.
The coming period is expected to see further coordination, with the aim of identifying promising investment opportunities and presenting them to the private sector.
Daher emphasized the importance of the role of both governments in facilitating business and improving the investment environment.
This will accelerate the implementation of joint projects.
In conclusion, he thanked the leadership of both countries and the economic bodies, headed by former Minister Mohammad Shakir, for their support of the forum and for ensuring the success of its events.
