Youth Festival in Medjugorje: Prayer and Hope

The 37th edition of the Youth Festival in Medjugorje continued.

Coinciding with the Feast of Our Lady of the Angels (“Portiuncula”), the event was attended by thousands of young people. They came from around the world.

In an atmosphere of prayer, meditation, and hope.

Father Zvonimir Pavičić, parish priest of Medjugorje, presided over the evening Mass.

Father Aloysius Slavko Angelicic delivered the homily under the theme “To the Source.” He called on the youth to return to Christ, the source of peace and purity of heart.

Drawing inspiration from the spirituality of St. Francis of Assisi and the love of the Virgin Mary, they saw this as a path. This path leads the faithful to Christ.

The program featured a moving testimony by Ukrainian priest Father Yuri Holotiuk.

He called for prayers for young people and peoples affected by conflicts. He expressed his hope that peace would replace fear and war.

The day’s events concluded with a procession of the statue of the Virgin Mary. This was followed by adoration of the Most Holy Eucharist, in an atmosphere of silence and prayer.
