The energy minister’s tours in Beirut continued to highlight the reality of the water and infrastructure sector in the capital.
The tour aimed to improve water services and enhance their sustainability in the coming years.
In addition, Minister of Energy and Water Joe Saddi began his field tours from the Achrafieh area. This area is within the first district in Beirut.
The tour is expected to be completed by visiting the second district next month.
He was accompanied by a number of deputies and local officials. Additionally, representatives of the Beirut and Mount Lebanon Water Corporation joined the tour.
Treatment of a major water leak in Achrafieh
Therefore, the first stop was at the ABS Ashrafieh Bridge. There, the minister was briefed on the work of treating a large water leak from a main line with a diameter of 1,200 millimeters.
These works are part of efforts to reduce waste and improve the efficiency of the distribution network.
Development of the Azaria Plant and the expansion of the reservoir
The Ministry of Energy and Water has also worked to expand the capacity of the reservoir. It increased from five thousand cubic meters to more than sixteen thousand cubic meters.
This will contribute to enhancing storage capacity and improving water supply in a number of neighborhoods of the capital.

The tour concluded with a dialogue meeting in Sassine Square. There, Minister Joe Al-Saddi presented the most prominent steps that the Ministry has worked on in the short and long term to develop the water and energy sectors.
Finally, he stressed the importance of investing in infrastructure to ensure more stable and effective services.
