استقبالات الرئيس عون

Joseph Aoun follows up on Kesrouan development, electricity and Lebanon’s neutrality

President Joseph Aoun received Elias Baainou, head of the Kesrouan-Ftouh Federation of Municipalities, accompanied by a delegation of Kesrouan MPs.

Following the meeting, Baainou said: “We reaffirmed the region’s demand to adopt administrative decentralization in waste management, especially since there is a solution represented by the Ghosta plant, which enjoys the consensus of the region’s towns.”

He added: “We discussed expanding the Nahr el-Kalb–Nahr Ibrahim highway, as well as widening the road from Zouk Mosbeh to Faraya.”

He concluded: “We sensed from the President a genuine interest in these demands and a readiness to follow up on them and support efforts to achieve them, in a way that meets citizens’ needs and advances development in Kesrouan and Ftouh.”

President Aoun also discussed with MP Naameh Frangieh domestic conditions and regional developments, in addition to the electricity file and the measures being worked on to improve power production.

Frangieh praised the President’s positions aimed at “preserving Lebanon’s sovereignty, independence, territorial unity, and the extension of state authority.”

Separately, President Aoun was briefed by former MP and minister Michel Pharaon on the outcomes of the discussions he has been holding with a group of intellectuals and politicians as part of the movement for “Lebanon’s neutrality,” ahead of the release of the second part of the book documenting these deliberations.
