The Municipality of Terbol has launched a project to light the town’s streets using solar energy:
which powers more than 500 streetlights distributed across various roads and neighborhoods.
This contributes to enhancing public safety and security and alleviating the municipality’s operational burdens.
The project relies on a system of solar panels installed above the basketball court, after a special roof was constructed over the court to house the panels and power the lighting system.
The launch of the project was announced during a ceremony held at the municipal building to coincide with the feast day of Saint Thecla, the patron saint of Tarbul.
During the ceremony, local businessman Mr. Salim Assi was honored in recognition of his initiative and support.
The ceremony began with a speech by the mayor of Terbol, Kabi Faraj, in which he emphasized that the project constitutes a fundamental step toward improving public safety and reducing security risks resulting from the lack of lighting.
The ceremony concluded with a commitment to continued work and cooperation between the municipality and the people of Terbol to launch further development and service projects.
