The Bassma Association announced a concert featuring singer Hiba Tawaji on October 24 at the Casino du Liban theater, directed and produced by musician Oussama Al-Rahbani, with all proceeds from the concert going to support the association’s programs and families in need in Lebanon.
The announcement was made during a press conference held by the association at La Martingale restaurant in Casino du Liban, attended by Osama Al-Rahbani and a number of media representatives, as well as the association’s partners and friends, while Heba Tawji participated in the conference via video link from Paris.
A Concert Combining Art and Humanitarian Work
The gala will take place at 8:30 p.m. and is part of an initiative that combines art and humanitarian work, with the aim of supporting the Bassma Association’s social and humanitarian programs and assisting families facing difficult economic and social circumstances.
Sandra Khallat Abdelnour, the association’s president and founder, emphasized that purchasing a ticket to the gala is not merely about attending an artistic evening, but also directly contributes to supporting a family benefiting from Basma’s programs. She expressed her gratitude to Heba Tawji and Osama Al-Rahbani for their participation in the initiative.
Bassma Approaches Its 25th Anniversary
The conference served as an opportunity to announce a special campaign as the association’s 25th anniversary approaches. Basma highlighted the key milestones in its journey and shared the stories of several families it has supported, in addition to recognizing the role of volunteers, supporters, and partners.
The association’s programs cover several areas, including education, food, healthcare, psychological support, home rehabilitation, and job creation, as well as humanitarian response during crises. Khalat Abdelnour noted that the association has made an impact on the lives of more than one million people over the course of nearly 25 years of work.
Bassma also announced the launch of its new website to showcase its programs and make it easier for people to support its mission through volunteering and donations.
Hiba Tawaji: Art Can Make a Difference
Speaking from Paris, Heba Tawji emphasized the importance of everyone contributing to making a difference in the lives of others, noting that support can give people a sense that they are not alone and that there are those who stand by their side.
For his part, Oussama Al-Rahbani stressed the importance of art’s role in supporting humanitarian and social initiatives, emphasizing that standing by the people amid the circumstances Lebanon is currently facing is a shared responsibility.
The event is part of Bassma Association’s efforts to continue expanding its support network as it approaches its 25th anniversary, transforming aid into new opportunities for the families who benefit from its programs.
