Al-Sadi in Qatar to Support Lebanon’s Electricity Sector

Al-Sadi in Qatar: Energy and Water Minister Joe Al-Sadi will depart Beirut following the conclusion of this afternoon’s Cabinet meeting.

He is heading to Qatar for official talks addressing the state of Lebanon’s energy sector, particularly the electricity issue and ways to provide the necessary support.

Al-Sadi is scheduled to meet with Qatar’s Minister of State for Energy Affairs and the Chairman and CEO of Qatar Energy, Engineer Saad bin Shuraida Al-Kaabi.

The meeting will focus on opportunities for cooperation between the two countries to help Lebanon address the electricity crisis and improve power supply.

Energy Minister Joe Al-Sadi’s visit to Qatar is part of a series of diplomatic initiatives he is leading to mobilize support for Lebanon’s energy sector.

He visited Turkey last week, following a previous visit to Iraq, in addition to meetings he held in Cyprus.

These trips reflect the Ministry of Energy’s efforts to expand Arab and European cooperation and seek practical and sustainable solutions to the electricity crisis.

They also aim to secure diverse sources of support to help boost production, ensure a steady power supply, and alleviate the burdens citizens have been bearing for years.
