The Matta Festival in Bireh is getting ready to welcome visitors this weekend with two evenings of music,
heritage, entertainment and family activities in the heart of Chouf.
Bireh Municipality is organizing the festival under the sponsorship of Maté 19. It will take place on Saturday and Sunday, August 29 and 30, 2026.
The event will be held in the Al-Matila neighborhood, near the IPT station in Bireh. Activities will begin at 8:00 p.m.
on both evenings. Most importantly, admission is free for all visitors.
The Matta Festival in Bireh Program
The festival aims to celebrate village traditions while supporting local products and community gatherings.
Therefore, visitors can expect a mix of entertainment, music and activities designed for different age groups.
Saturday’s program will feature a sports exhibition led by Maroun Khalil Khalil. In addition,
a DJ will create a lively musical atmosphere throughout the evening.
The festival will also welcome magician and mentalist Ismail Fatouni. He will present
an interactive entertainment show filled with surprises for the audience.
Dabke, Music and Village Gatherings
On Sunday, the program will continue with the “Let’s Dance in the Village” event.
The activity will recreate traditional Lebanese village evenings through dabke, music and live performances.
As a result, visitors can enjoy both entertainment and a taste of local heritage.
Oud player and singer Makram Murshed will also take part in the artistic program.
Moreover, complimentary matta gatherings will give visitors another opportunity to meet, relax and enjoy the atmosphere with friends and family.

included several games and recreational activities for children.
