The Mar Mikhael Festival in Bitghrin: Joy and Heritage

Mar Mikhael Festival Brings Faith, Art and Heritage to Batghrin

The town of Batghrin is preparing to host the “Mar Mikhael Festival” from September 1 to 6.

The festival promises to become one of the year’s major religious, artistic, and cultural events.

Over six days, visitors will enjoy a diverse program featuring faith, heritage, music, art, and authentic Lebanese traditions.

Elias Al-Murr, head of the festival’s organizing committee, explained the vision behind the event.

“The Mar Mikhael Festival is not merely a series of concerts,” Al-Murr said. “It is a space that brings people together around the church, the town, and our heritage.”

He also highlighted the important role of culture and art in strengthening communities.

“Culture and art can serve as a bridge to love, unity, and a sense of belonging,” he said.

According to Al-Murr, the organizers created a program for different age groups and interests.

The festival will feature authentic Lebanese art, national music, zajal, heritage activities, and entertainment.

Religious and cultural activities will also take place throughout the festival.

Al-Murr stressed that the organizers want the event to reflect the spirit of Mar Mikhael and Batghrin.

“We want this to be an event befitting Mar Mikhael, Batghrin, and all of Lebanon,” he said.

He concluded with the festival’s main message: “We must remain united.”
