The Arab Open University hosted a delegation from the Graphic Designers Union, led by Union President Patrick Nakouzi.
The delegation included Ali Kamal al-Din, Ernest Baaklini, Maggie Matta, and Heba al-Dallal.
They were received by the university’s president, Dr. Yara Abdullah, and vice president, Dr. Dani Aoun, along with Drs. Muhammad al-Hajj and Gadi Maklad, and professors Walid Saif and Dana Khalil.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Abdullah welcomed the union delegation.
She emphasized “the importance of cooperation and synergy between the university and the unions, each within its respective field of expertise.”
She touched on “the rapid and continuous evolution of the graphic design profession and the university’s efforts to keep pace with these developments in academic education.”
Union President Nakouzi provided an overview of the union’s history and its role in keeping pace with contemporary developments.
In particular, he highlighted the field of artificial intelligence and its active role in developing and advancing the profession.
He highlighted “the great importance that graphic design has acquired in our time.”
In conclusion, a cooperation protocol was signed between the university president and President Nakouzi.
Everyone expressed their hopes for the success and continuity of this joint collaboration.
