Shakira’s concert in Madrid on October 3 set a new record, becoming the most-watched live music performance by a female artist on Amazon Music to date.
The streaming service announced the achievement in a press statement issued on Sunday, October 4, just one day after the concert was broadcast live. The show was part of Shakira’s 12-concert residency in the Spanish capital, held at the “Shakira Stadium” venue, as part of her global tour “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour.”
The concert was not limited to a collection of the Colombian star’s most famous songs spanning three decades of her career in Latin music. It also featured a striking surprise, as Dua Lipa joined Shakira on stage for an acoustic performance of “Antología,” from the 1997 album “Pies Descalzos.”
Shakira expressed her happiness about the moment, saying it was “what this tour was missing.”
Introducing Dua Lipa to the audience, Shakira said: “For me, it is an honor and a privilege to sing this song, which means so much to me, with this woman who is so admired and loved all over the world.”
More than 50,000 people attended the concert in person, alongside a wide audience who watched from home via the live stream available on Amazon Music, Prime Video and Twitch.
After the concert ended, Dua Lipa shared her excitement on her Instagram account, writing in Spanish: “I felt like you, me and the audience were one person. I’m so grateful that I’ll carry such a beautiful memory with me.”
“Shakira Stadium” was built as a temporary venue inside the “Iberdrola Music” complex in Madrid, specifically to host Shakira’s series of concerts in the city, which began on September 18 and will conclude with the twelfth concert on October 11.
The live stream of Shakira’s concert also topped Amazon Music’s 2026 campaign titled “Women Shaping Latin Music,” which celebrates the female artists, voices and cultural movements influencing the Latin music scene.
