Selena Gomez seemed to be in a nostalgic mood after dropping a playful nod to her ex-boyfriend Nick Jonas in a new TikTok video, dancing to the Jonas Brothers’ hit song “Burnin’ Up.”
In the video, posted on October 15, the “Only Murders in the Building” star showed off her look in a lighthearted way, lip-syncing to the lyrics of the 2008 song.
The clip opened with a shot of her red high heels timed to the line “High heels,” before the camera panned up to reveal her shimmery red strapless dress. Selena then mouthed along to Nick Jonas’s famous line in the song, “Red dress,” before bursting into laughter.
Selena captioned the video simply: “Feeling nostalgic.”
Selena and Nick Jonas’s old relationship
Selena Gomez and Nick Jonas dated between 2008 and 2010, during a period when both were among Disney Channel’s biggest stars.
Their relationship at the time coincided with a brief romance between Taylor Swift and Joe Jonas in 2008, which indirectly helped spark Selena and Taylor’s friendship.
Selena had spoken about that period in August 2025, during an appearance on the podcast “Therapuss with Jake Shane,” joking: “Me and Taylor dated the Jonas brothers. I dated Nick, and she dated Joe.”
She added: “We didn’t know what we were doing back then, but we like to say the best thing that came out of those relationships is our friendship with each other.”
Selena confirmed that relations between everyone are good today, saying: “We all know and love each other now, and that’s really nice.”

Although her relationship with Nick Jonas is now a thing of the past, Selena is currently in a happy phase of married life with music producer Benny Blanco, after the two tied the knot in September 2025.
Selena recently said she is still in her “honeymoon phase,” praising her relationship with her husband.
She told People magazine: “It’s amazing to have a partner who genuinely listens to me and treats me the way I am, no matter what mood I’m in or how my day is going. That’s all I could ask for.”
She continued: “I just need him and I love him, so it’s really great.”
How Selena and Benny’s story began
Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s relationship began in July 2023, around the time of Selena’s birthday, according to what Benny revealed during an appearance on “The Howard Stern Show” in May 2024.
However, rumors about their romantic relationship didn’t start until late 2023.
In December of that year, Selena confirmed her relationship with Benny when she commented on a fan page post on Instagram, saying of him: “He’s everything to me and from the bottom of my heart.”
She added: “He’s the best thing that has ever happened to me, and still better than anyone I’ve ever been with before.”
Rare Beauty’s founder also posted a photo via Instagram Stories around that time, showing her resting her head on the chest of a man who appeared to be Benny Blanco.
