Beirut’s Sagesse secured its fourth consecutive win, defeating Qatar’s Al Rayyan 94-87.
The match was part of Group One of the 38th Arab Clubs Basketball Championship, which Sagesse is hosting at the Ghazir Sports Club hall.
Sagesse’s management had condemned chants made by a section of fans on Tuesday evening in the north stand during the match against Mkalles Jounieh, which targeted head coach Jo Ghattas.
The management renewed its confidence in Ghattas and the team’s players, and announced the opening of an investigation to take action against those who made the chants, describing their behavior as unusual for the club.
