Kylian Mbappé scored a hat trick to lead Real Madrid to a 4-1 victory over visiting Real Sociedad
in their first home game of the season in Spain’s La Liga.
Mbappé opened the scoring in the 40th minute when he received a pass from Federico Valverde.
He beat a defender and fired the ball into the top corner.
But Luka Sušić equalized four minutes later after Real Madrid failed to clear the ball.
Coach José Mourinho brought on Marc Cocoria in the second half.
Real Madrid dominated the match. Mbappé restored his team’s lead in the 60th minute after exchanging passes with Jude Bellingham.
He then fired the ball into the net from close range.
Bellingham’s pressure led to the third goal in the 68th minute.
He recovered the ball and sent a cross to Vinícius Júnior, who easily put it away.
Vinícius then played a through ball to Mbappé in the 80th minute, allowing the French striker to skillfully complete his hat trick.
