The Arab Musical Heritage Ensemble presented a musical evening featuring the heritage of the Arab Renaissance at the Ab Bazbina Festival.
This was part of this year’s Ab Bazbina Festival events.
Dr. Hayaf Yassin performed on his unique instrument, the “santur.”
He was accompanied by Christo Al-Almawi on vocals and the oud.
Jamil Al-Ali on vocals, Naji Al-Aridi on the darbuka, and Anders Al-Tars on the riq.
Three masterful musical pieces in Arabic maqams.
The performance began with the “Rast” maqam, then moved on to the “Bayati” maqam, and concluded with the “Hijaz” maqam.
The musical forms varied, including samā‘iyāt, dawālib, muwashshahat, qasā’id, mawāwil, and various types of taqasīm.
