The Faculty of Medicine at Beirut Arab University, on its Beirut campus, celebrated the launch of the twenty-second cohort of specialist doctors, who successfully completed years of clinical training in various medical specialties at several university hospitals.
The cohort included thirty-four male and female doctors in fourteen specialties: general surgery, urology, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedic surgery, internal medicine, infectious diseases, nephrology, as well as pediatrics, otorhinolaryngology (ENT), pulmonology, cardiology, gastroenterology, neonatology and premature infants, and diagnostic radiology.
The ceremony began with the master of ceremonies, Dr. Mireille Batal, who noted in her speech that “today we celebrate the graduates of the various specialty programs, who have chosen the path of medicine.”
Then, the graduating doctor Dr. Raya Fayyad delivered the graduates’ speech, saying: “The university was not just a place, but a space where we grew up and learned how to be patient, to dream, and to rise again.”
For her part, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Professor Wafaa Al-Sahli, spoke, saying: “On this special day, we gather together to celebrate a bright milestone in the journey of knowledge and success, and to share moments filled with pride and honor for the fruit of long years of diligence and dedication.”
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates to the graduating doctors, followed by the recitation of the Hippocratic Oath.
