The late poet Nizar Qabbani stated, “A woman who gets angry quickly is the most honest of women.”
Anger is an expression of an inner feeling, experienced by women and men worldwide, though it varies from country to country.
The Hologic Global Women’s Health Index, an annual ranking based on a survey of over 76,000 women and girls worldwide, revealed the nationality of the angriest women globally.
Taiwanese Women Are the Angriest
Taiwan ranked first globally, followed by Latvia, then Japan, then Vietnam and Poland. Singapore, Germany, and Austria also featured among the top ranks.
Data collected in February 2024 and published this week showed that approximately two out of ten women reported feeling angry.
Measuring Women’s Mood
The report relied on measuring the general mood in different countries by asking participants about the emotions they experienced for a significant part of the previous day.
Europe’s Angriest Women
The highest levels of anger in Europe were recorded in Malta, followed by Greece, then the Czech Republic, Albania, and Spain.
Guinea, Madagascar, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Chad ranked last, respectively.
Tim Simpson, Senior Director at Hologic, commented on the findings, stating: “Women tell us they want earlier diagnosis and faster access to healthcare.”
He added: “Improving women’s health requires a continuous commitment from policymakers, the National Health Service, doctors, and the industry to work together to implement the changes women are demanding.”
