Elissa Launches “Elissar”: An Album Bearing Her Name and the Spirit of Artistic Freedom

Lebanese star Elissa has released her fourteenth album, “Elissar” (ELISSAR), a new artistic step that reflects the maturity of her musical journey and her creative independence. The release comes after a career spanning more than 25 years of success and brilliance in the world of Arabic singing.

The album bears her real name, “Elissar Zakaria Khoury,” symbolically marking a return to self and roots. It also evokes the strength of Elissar, the Phoenician Queen of Carthage, whose name has been associated with willpower and independence.

“Elissar”… A New Chapter of Artistic Independence

The album features 14 songs and is the second work Elissa has produced entirely through her own company, E-Records. Coinciding with the release, it marks her first partnership with the global company Believe Artist Services, aimed at expanding the reach of her work and strengthening her presence in international music markets.

The album’s launch was accompanied by a global promotional campaign in collaboration with Spotify and Anghami. The campaign included Elissa appearing on a billboard in Times Square, New York, as part of an initiative celebrating women’s strength and independence.

14 Songs Blending Love, Nostalgia, and Strength

Elissa chose to release all the album’s songs at once, without a single or an accompanying music video. This gives audiences the opportunity to discover the work and choose their favorite tracks.

“Elissar” includes nine songs in the Egyptian dialect and four in the Lebanese dialect. There is also a Gulf song titled “Shita Al-Riyadh” (Riyadh Winter), an experience that blends classic romance with contemporary musical colors.

The album features collaborations with some of the most prominent creators of Arabic songs, including Marwan Khoury, Tamer Ashour, Aziz El Shafei, Mohamed Refaie, Amir Ta’ameh, and Walid Saad. In addition, there are music arrangers including Hadi Sharara, Ahmed Ibrahim, and Tamim.

The songs “A’tini Ghomra,” “Matarat,” and “Bedi Yak” stand out as the fruit of renewed collaboration between Elissa and Marwan Khoury. The remaining works range across feelings of love, longing, heartbreak, and regaining self-confidence.

A Global Signature Enhancing the Album’s Quality

The album carries the signature of the global Bernie Grundman Mastering studio in the final audio mastering stage. This studio is known for its work on famous music by Michael Jackson and Prince.

This step reflects Elissa’s commitment to delivering a complete

sound experience that prioritizes emotion and musical performance, far from the chase after numbers and passing trends.

After two years of preparation, “Elissar” crowns a journey marked by challenges and independent artistic choices. It is also a message affirming Elissa’s commitment to her musical identity and her freedom to express herself.

Between a voice millions have loved and an emotion that has accompanied generations, Elissa opens a new page with “Elissar,”

a page titled maturity and freedom. Its essence is music that springs from the heart and reaches hearts.
