The chairman of the board of the Investment Development Authority of Lebanon (IDAL), Dr. Majed Mneimneh, met with Italy’s ambassador to Lebanon, Fabrizio Marcelli, to discuss the authority’s role in promoting local and foreign investment, as well as the services it offers investors, from providing investment information and introducing available opportunities to facilitating procedures and coordinating with the relevant administrations.
The meeting also addressed the general economic situation and the challenges facing a number of European countries.
They discussed the repercussions of these challenges on international investment activity, and the importance of strengthening economic cooperation and developing partnerships between Lebanon and Italy.
The two sides explored ways to encourage Italian companies and investors to explore the opportunities available in Lebanon.
This applies particularly to the production, industrial, agricultural, tourism and technology sectors, in a way that would contribute to launching joint projects, strengthening economic relations between the two countries, and supporting the Lebanese economy.
