Aoun: Artificial intelligence is Lebanon’s gateway to the future

Artificial intelligence has grown into a full ministry in Lebanon, with Minister Kamal Shehadi playing a key role in developing the sector and turning it into a way of life.

He has introduced numerous achievements and decisions that helped spread awareness of artificial intelligence.

Amid the global shift toward this field and its impact on various aspects of life, President Joseph Aoun has shown strong interest in spreading artificial intelligence among the Lebanese.

During a meeting with Minister of Technology and Artificial Intelligence Kamal Shehadi, President Joseph Aoun stressed “the importance of establishing the ministry.”

He described it as “a fundamental step to keep pace with rapid global transformations and to put Lebanon on the path of the digital and knowledge economy.”

He noted that “investment in this sector is not limited to developing public services and enhancing transparency.”

He added: “It also opens broad horizons for Lebanese youth to be creative and innovative, and contributes to stimulating economic growth and attracting investments.”

He affirmed that “this initiative is at the heart of our vision to build a modern state, capable of using digital technology and artificial intelligence as tools to strengthen good governance, improve quality of life, and establish Lebanon’s position as a regional hub for knowledge and technology.”
