Raouche cleanup campaign: What did Jouzour Loubnan’s Earth association find?

To protect biodiversity and preserve natural habitats along the Lebanese coast, the “Earth – Lebanon” association carried out a field campaign to clean the habitats of the monk seal in Raouche.

The participating teams were spread across three sites, including an isolated beach and two sea caves.

The teams worked to remove large quantities of waste accumulated among the rocks, on the beach, and inside the caves.

The monk seal cave was one of the most challenging sites, given the difficulty of entering and exiting it and the lack of lighting inside.

The Earth association noted that what was found at the three sites reflects the effects of years of unsustainable waste management in Lebanon.

The association pointed out that this field initiative is not limited to removing waste, but carries a deeper message.

It concluded by affirming that the association continues its efforts in the field of environmental protection and biodiversity conservation.
